You’re Yoga Class may be Hot but Baby It’s Cold Outside!
5 Tips to Stay Warm
Your hot yoga class may make you warm and sweaty but don’t forget it’s cold outside. This week we reached 20 below zero air temperature! Look great and stay warm going from your workout to your car.
5 Basic Tips to Keep You Covered:
- Change out the sweaty workout clothes for fresh ones before you leave class if you can. Remember cotton doesn’t wick moisture from your body, so you may be chilled if you wear a damp base layer after class. Base layers made of wicking materials work best to keep moisture away from your body if you’ve participated in sweaty workout activities.
- Coats: I opt for a longer length coat. If you’re wearing leggings to and from a class, it’s nice to have your rear and your legs covered from the chilling wind!
- Boots: There are two reasons to wear boots to your class. First, it’s common courtesy to avoid walking into the gym with your snowy workout shoes on and sloshing dirty wet snow all over. Secondly, a pair of boots will keep your feet warm. Wear a mid calf or knee height they will add as extra protection on your legs! You can also add boot liners to boots for extra warmth.
- High leg warmers: I recently saw someone wearing leg warmers that covered the full length of the leg. It looked so cozy!
- Cover your head, neck, and hands. Beanies and infinity scarves are on trend as an accessory to keep you warm, and there are tons of options out there. Scarves are an easy way to stay warm and also change up the look of a coat that you might wear frequently. Try mix and matching bright colors to spice up your look.
