Do you have a fitness style? I don’t mean the “way” you work out but a fitness fashion style. The options are limitless and you can show off your personality through your clothes, your shoes, and even in how you wear your hair. Athletic clothing is no longer just for the gym and you can sport a bright pair of leggings almost anywhere you go. You may also have noticed that stores that aren’t normally considered athletic stores are getting in on the trend and adding departments exclusively tailored to working out. So what should you look for in fitness clothing? We’ve added video for our #YourStyle Fitness Fashion Friday segment on WEAU 13 News and added a list of 3 tips to help you find your style!
3 Steps Toward Finding Your Style:
- Comfort. Comfort is key! If you’re not comfortable not only will you NOT work out in the gear but you probably won’t wear it at all. Being comfortable not only considers the fit but you should also feel good about yourself in what you’re wearing. It should give you confidence and should reflect YOUR personality.
- Versatility. Are you someone who needs to run from the gym to a list of other places during your day? Find pieces that can easily go from your workouts to wherever. Many pieces can be found in the non-athletic departments of stores. Think about wraps and tunics to give you a finished look leaving the gym.
- Design. Design can mean include everything the look entails from color, structure, and fabric to texture, details, and fit. This is where your personality can shine. Experiment to find your look whether that means wearing bright, bold colors, monochromatic leggings, and tops or the bold contrast of a black and white outfit.
Whatever your style, the idea is to wear clothes that reflect your personality and motivate you to get out there and work out.
