Danielle’s Path to Running

Running Used to be a Four-Letter Word!
I work from home for a globally recognized pregnancy and parenting website and have a wonderful husband and two beautiful daughters ages 10 and 6.
I began exercising with purpose about four years ago. My husband had taken up running and started from zero, and after watching him progress and run the EC Half Marathon, I decided enough was enough and I could do that, too. I began using the Couch to 5k program on my own to build up a base and joined Moms on the Run in 2015. I’ve now run countless 5ks and 5 miles, two half marathons, a marathon relay, just completed a Ragnar Trail Relay and am about to participate in the Birkie 3-person Marathon Trail Relay. *At the time of this post, Daniella completed both the Marathon Trail Relay and as well as the Royal Credit Union Charity Classic!
When I asked Danielle if she always worked out, her answer was “No, running used to be a four-letter word.” Now, what’s Danielle’s favorite workout? Running! She participates in Moms on the Run and any other running event that catches her eye. She also enjoys Pop-Up Yoga.

Workout Gadget: Surefoot Massage Balls, and my FlipBelt.
Workout Clothing Brand or Favorite Gear: As silly as it sounds, a simple race T from the first 5K I ran, because I was super proud of that accomplishment!
Healthy Food: Banana nut oatmeal.
Food Indulgence: Chocolate.
