Self Defense Class

Presented by AKF Martial Arts Academy of Eau Claire

This course is a woman specific, basic self-defense course that focuses on awareness, assessment, and action. This course will provide insights regarding basic mental and physical skills that you can use every day to help keep you and your loved ones safe.

In addition, AKF will provide you with the WI State Statue(s) that pertain to Self Defense/Protection and legal/counseling services in the Chippewa Valley. The course is designed for ages 13 and above. We ask that ages 13-17 year olds, be accompanied by a legal guardian. We welcome all fitness abilities and are willing to work with any limitations you may have. We ask that you dress in clothing that will allow you to move freely as you will be striking and learning basic self-defense releases.

Class time: 2:30 -3:00 pm

Meet Instructor Chester Gustavson- Owner/Head Instructor – 4th Degree Black Belt

Chester started his martial arts journey at AKF Martial Arts Academy of Neillsville (formerly Three Rivers Martial Arts) in 1991 and earned his black belt in 1998. It was in this year that he started to assist his instructor Master Linda Imler with her women’s self-defense classes. The program that Chester uses today is primarily based off of Master Imler’s program.

In 2008 Chester opened his commercial martial arts academy, AKF Martial Arts of Eau Claire LLC. It was at this time he was able to focus on a women’s self-defense program. He has since developed relationships with local law enforcement & area businesses that have added valuable knowledge, information and physical technique to AKF’s Women’s Self Defense Program.

He looks forward to sharing his experiences with you during this class in the hope it helps you to live a healthier and safer lifestyle.
