October means that the leaves are changing their colors, pumpkins are everywhere, and ultimately we will be working out in cooler temperatures. October is also a busy month for outdoor fitness activities that give back to causes or charities. We’ve listed five tips to help you gear up for Fall as you attend local events that help you give back and exercise at the same time. ♥

5 Tips to Help You Gear Up for Fall

It’s a perfect time to consider new gear to keep you comfortable and safe.

  1. Wear Tech Fabrics. Your base layer is the most important layer to consider. Use technical fabrics that will wick moisture away from your body keeping you dry and warm.
  2. Gaiters. Use for warmth to cover your face, neck, or head. You can even use as a headband!
  3. Layer. Layering garments will keep you warmer. As you warm up, just remove layers.
  4. Reflective Gear. This includes everything from your leggings, tops, hats, and hydration gear. Look for products that are bright in color and have reflective components.
  5. Stay Hydrated. The truth is, you can still become dehydrated in cool temperatures. Don’t forget to drink water before, during, and after your workout. Liquids that are not too cold or too hot are best.

  1. The Royal Credit Union Charity Classic, Saturday, October 8, 2016. Offers a variety of courses geared toward the entire family with proceeds going to Beaver Creek Reserve in Fall Creek.
