Intermittent fasting for weight loss and overall women’s health isn’t new and you probably have tried fasting in the past. Until recently, I tried fasting with little results and I found it difficult to fast for any length of time. That changed with new information. I listened to the Mel Robbins Podcast with Dr. Mindy Pelz and I quickly realized I had been doing it all wrong. It’s not just about fasting for a designated number of hours a day. It’s also about what you eat during certain fasting weeks and when you shouldn’t fast at all. This blog post is not to detail all of the information but to give you the resources to learn how to intermittent fast in a way you maybe haven’t before and to give you eye opening information how fasting can help you.
The Information
I highly recommend that you listen to the two podcast episodes to help you get started on your fast. The fasting information will also give you reasons to stay motivated. I’m not affiliated in any way with these podcasts, I recommend them because they are filled with good information (and I love to listen to Mel Robbins’ podcasts). If you’re like me, with the need to know as much as possible, I also suggest that you read “Fasting like a Girl” written by author Dr. Mindy Pelz. I’ve added this book on my Amazon Storefront. The podcast episodes and the book are linked below under resources!
The science-based information will definitely motivate you for a multitude of reasons. I initially liked the idea of fasting to lose weight and become leaner but now I’m looking forward to adding longer fasts for health reasons. Because when it comes down to it, your health is the most important reason to do this.
